What is einkorn flour?

When I was first married, cooking was very hard for me. It’s still not my favorite and is sometimes still hard for me. But my kids say even though I don’t like to cook, I make good food that is flavorful...so that’s nice to know.

I enjoy serving my family, healthy and whole meals even down to homemade pie crust!

My einkorn pie crust recipe is very easy if you need a pie shell quickly or you don’t want to roll out the dough. When using einkorn flour in recipes, you’ll need to lessen the amount of liquid.

Can I use regular white flour instead of einkorn flour?

Yes, you can use regular white flour. Before I switched to einkorn I used white flour. Check the recipe below to know the measurements.

When my mother-in-law gave me this recipe to me it originally had self-rising flour and regular white flour. I made my own version so I used baking powder, salt, and flour to make it, and good olive oil. And voila!…a pie crust that was easy….especially when my littles were running circles around me….rolling out dough seemed like a task then.

Now, I do enjoy rolling out dough, but this crust is still easy to…

  • make
  • press
  • and be ready in 5 minutes!

Does einkorn taste good?

We really like the flavor better than regular white flour. Baked goods have a heartier taste but are still light and fluffy.

Where do I purchase einkorn?

Now, you can make a quick einkorn flour pie crust maybe without the picture-perfect rolled dough, but still, have that delicious pie ready for any occasion. And your kids will eat the flavorful dinner they say you make and know delicious pie is soon served.
